Elder Dale G. Renlund, MD

Since October 2015, Elder Dale G. Renlund has served in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From 2009 to 2015, he served in the same church as a General Authority Seventy assigned to South Africa. His assignment included many countries in the southern and easter portion of Africa and the islands of the Indian Ocean.

Previous to full-time church service, Elder Renlund received B.A. and M.D. degrees from the University of Utah. He received further medical and research training at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He was a professor of medicine at the University of Utah and the medical director of the Utah Transplantation Affiliated Hospitals (UTAH) Cardiac Transplant Program.
